I’m not really a traveler. The hassle of packing, planning, saving money, etc. makes a trip anything but relaxing. I have recently discovered, however, that I like road trips. I know a road trip is technically traveling, but it’s much less restrictive. My road trips include leaving when I want, getting as far as I want in a single day, and unplanned stops along the way to see things I’ve never seen before. When I road trip, I technically have an end destination to get to but it’s more like the turnaround point to head back home, than the final destination to spend time in.
Mrs. M and I recently took a road trip from our home near Denver to Kansas City, MO. When people would ask me what we were going to Kansas City for, I would simply say, “To have some great BBQ.” I think people found that strange, but the honest truth is, it was the truth. We had not planned to see anything specific and I really did want to get some good BBQ. To be honest, the trip ended up being more about some stops we made in the state of Kansas, than Kansas City itself. When you think of taking a trip, may I suggest making it a road trip. You might get to see things at eye level instead of from 30k feet. Here are some of the stuff we saw along the way. Cheers.
I have not checked in here for some time because I thought it was getting boring, but the last several posts are good quality so I guess I will add you back to my everyday bloglist. You deserve it my friend 🙂
