Health Intro

Many articles highlight the benefits of exercise. I appreciate what they conclude but my journey has a more personal flare. My dad wasn’t always active. To be perfectly honest, he didn’t work out at all. At 54 he had a quadruple bypass and by 54 he passed away from cancer. After my dad passed, my mom remarried. Her second husband was physically active. He did push-ups, sit-ups, swam, walked, and was by all accounts healthy. He recently passed away at the age of 93. The activity comparison of the two directly influence me to get and stay active.

I’ll skip my past workout history. I will say about 8 years ago I decided that I was going to enter my 50’s as healthy as possible. When I made that decision, I started going to the gym, paying better attention to what I ate, and decided to make this was going to be life. I turned 50 a couple months ago and I still go the gym, I try my best to eat well, and I’m can definitely see and feel the difference. I read it’s never too late to get started working out. I am only going to live as long as God allows me to, but I’m going to fight frailty every step of the way.
